Welcome to Modern Day America

You know you are living in 2006 when :-

1) You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2) You haven’t played solitaire with real cards in years.

3) You have a list of 10 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4) You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5) Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don’t have e-mail addresses.

6) You go home after a long day at work you still answer the telephone in a business manner.

7) You make phone calls from home, you accidentally dial “0” to get an outside line.

8) You have sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three different companies already.

10) You learn about your redundancy on the 11 o’clock news.

11) Your boss doesn’t have the ability to do your job.

12) You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home.

13) Every commercial on tv has a website at the bottom of the screen.

14) Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn’t have the first 20 or 40 or even 60 years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn right around to go get it.

15) You get up in the morning and go on-line before getting your coffee.

16) You start tilting your head sideways to smile. 🙂

17) You are reading this, nodding and laughing.

18) Even worse, you know exactly who all you’re gonna forward this message to.

19) You are too busy to notice that there was no #9 on this list.

20) You actually scrolled back up to check that there was no #9 on this list.

{ And now you’re actually LAUGHING AT YOURSELF! 😀 }

Can you imagine working at the following Company? It has a little over 500 employees with the following statistics:

* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse.

* 7 have been arrested for fraud.

* 19 have been accused of writing bad cheques.

* 117 have bankrupted at least two businesses.

* 3 have been arrested for assault.

* 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit.

* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges.

* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting.

* 21 are current defendants in lawsuits.

* In 1998 alone, 84 were stopped for drunk driving.

Can you guess which organization this is? Give up? It’s the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group that perpetually cranks out hundreds upon hundreds of new laws designed to keep the rest of us in line.

{ Not sure about the validity of these claims, just thought they were somewhat funny so I posted them here. So please dont sue the messenger. }
